Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes

The classification of currently enrolled and re-admitted students for tuition purposes is the responsibility of the Office of the Registrar. The University System of Georgia Board of Regents Policy Manual contains the criteria for classification as in-state for tuition purposes. If you have been classified as a nonresident for tuition purposes and you think further information could change that classification, you should submit the University of Georgia Petition for Classification as In-State for Tuition Purposes and all supporting documentation.

Be sure to read the Board of Regents policy at: http://www.usg.edu/policymanual/section4/policy/4.3_student_residency/

After you have completed the petition and attached all supporting documentation, you should mail or bring them to:

  • Office of the Registrar
  • Holmes/Hunter Academic Bldg
