Q: What are the procedures for a UGA student to attend another institution as a transient student?
A: Undergraduate Students:
- Check with the institution you plan to attend to determine what you need to submit and if you need to apply for admission.
- If you need a transient letter, submit a request through OASIS in the Request Transcript/Letter of Certification option of the Student Records Main Menu. You may also request a transient letter by visiting the Office of the Registrar at 102 Holmes-Hunter Academic Building.
- Secure a course equivalency sheet available on the Admissions Office website or in your dean's office to check UGA course equivalents at Georgia institutions. If you need to research other courses or institutions, a collection of college catalogs is available in the Main Library.
- Near the end of the term at the other institution, request that a transcript of your completed course work be sent to the UGA Undergraduate Admissions Office as soon as your grades are posted so that the courses may be evaluated and posted to your UGA academic record.
Graduate Students:
Contact the Graduate Records Office (706) 542-4806, 550 Boyd Graduate Studies.
Remember: It is the student's responsibility to register for courses which are applicable to his/her degree program and to have official transcripts sent to the UGA Admissions Office. |
